Full Coverage…Lightweight Texture

One of the main compliments this makeup gets in particular is that it provides a lot more coverage than most mineral makeup brands on the market. This is because our formula is very concentrated. A little goes a long way!

Affordable & Environmental

Because our products are very concentrated, and we avoid unnecessary fillers like talc and wax, a very small amount of product is needed to achieve coverage and colour. We also offer free refill bags once you’ve used up your product. If you live in the area, simply call ahead and we can refill your containers on the spot. I have chosen to keep my prices lower than my competition, not because I have an inferior product, but I feel that all women should be able to afford quality, safe cosmetics.

Something for Everyone!

LoriannZ boasts a wide variety of cosmetic colours and textures to suit all skin tones and personal preferences. This makeup is perfect for that lady out there that usually doesn’t wear anything to the lady who never walks out of the house without her face on. Because the minerals are so easy to apply and the formulation is so forgiving, I guarantee you will master your look within minutes. I pride myself on my 5 minute face!
Since we package our products ourselves…we are always open to new color suggestions.
Colour is so much fun to play with!

Sun Protection

Due to the fact that LoriannZ cosmetics are not registered with Health Canada as “drugs”, we cannot make medical claims…including SPF. However, our foundations have a high level of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. These minerals naturally reflect the sun’s harsh rays away from your skin. The layer of minerals you have applied will determine the amount of sun protection you will achieve. For those ladies who like to work out, this makeup will stay with you and not run down your face. Just blot off the sweat with a tissue and you’re good to go!

Multi-Tasking

Most of the line are great multi-taskers. For example: the foundation is your concealer, foundation, finishing powder and sun protection all rolled into one. The eye shadows also can be used in many different unique ways. You can use them dry for a sweep of colour or wet as a liquid eye liner. Water intensifies the colour of the minerals and gives that WOW factor. They can also be used in the brow and on the cheeks. You get a whopping 3 grams of product in each container that will last you literally years. I’ve checked around and on average mineral eye shadows come in containers that hold only 1 gram of product. You get a lot of bang for your buck!

Truly Natural

“Mineral Cosmetics” are not synonymous with “Natural Cosmetics”. A lot of mainstream cosmetic companies are jumping on the mineral makeup bandwagon. Consumers must be aware that companies will market their products by using phrases such as “with natural botanicals” or “mineral based”.

Our ingredients are pure and simple. With more and more women developing allergies and chemical sensitivities to synthetic ingredients in cosmetics, this is a case where LESS really is MORE!

Titanium Dioxide: is a white coloured inorganic salt that is produced as a white powder. This non-irritating ingredient is also a broad spectrum UV absorber. It is used as a main ingredient in mineral cosmetics due to its ability to produce good coverage and adhesion.

Zinc Oxide: is another white powder that is used as a natural sun-block, astringent, and antiseptic. This mineral soothes and heals irritated skin, making our product great for acne prone or sensitive skin.

Sericite Mica: is a white, silky, shiny pigment derived from a fine crystalline clay mineral. It provides medium coverage, good spread ability and a smooth texture when applied to the skin.

Red and Yellow Iron Oxides: are purified iron salts. They are used as the main ingredients to pigment our foundations.

Ultramarine Blue: is a clay that has been heated to a high temperature. Discovered by the Egyptians, this mineral is used to balance the warm pigments in our foundation formula.

Mica: is a reflective mineral which is used in our foundation formula to add dimension and sheen, making your skin look “alive”. Mica is also used in our shadows and blush to provide a satin finish. We only use micas which are coated with natural minerals as opposed to dyes, lakes and carmine.

Silica Microspheres: Because of the size and shape of this mineral, it has the ability to diminish the look of fine lines on the skin, giving it a soft focus effect. The mineral particles are round and they produce a ball-bearing effect, which imparts the finished product with a silky elegant texture, enhanced slip and better blend ability providing a “cream to powder” texture.

Boron Nitride: Boron Nitride is a soft, silky white mineral powder. It is used as an additive to improve the “slip” of a product (how smoothly the product applies) as well as “adhesion” (how lone it stays on the skin).

Calcium Carbonate: is found in chalk, limestone, marble and travertine. Even eggshells are 95% calcium carbonate! Calcium Carbonate’s main function is to absorb moisture.

Talc: is similar to asbestos in structure and has been linked to respiratory diseases, and can easily to contaminated. Although Talc is a natural mineral, and can be purchased in fine grades which do not pose any risks, we choose to avoid it. In addition, there’s some evidence that it can permanently stretch pore walls! The main ingredient in most “powder” makeup is Talc. It’s a CHEAP FILLER! (Revlon, L’Oreal)

Bismuth Oxychloride: This is a mineral that is found in most of the mainstream mineral cosmetic companies. Bismuth is a by-product of lead and copper processing. Bismuth ox chloride is also frequently used to fill or “bulk-up” or bind products.

It imparts a very shiny finish, which may be desireable to some people, but it can be an irritant to certain skin types.

Bismuth Oxychloride is considered a skin irritant and can cause itching and rashes, breakouts, and in large amounts it can cause cystic acne as well-it’s one of the ingredients you should try to avoid if you have acne or rosacea or sensitive skin. (Jare Iredale, Bare Escentuals, L’Oreal Bare Naturale &Neutrogena Mineral Sheers, Maybelline all contain it)

Synthetic Colours: are used to create colours that are impossible to create with natural minerals. They will be labelled as FD&C or D&C, followed by a colour and a number. Ex: FD&C Red NO. 6. Synthetic colours are believed to be cancer-causing agents.

Synthetic Preservatives: such as parabens or urea. Mineral cosmetics are inorganic pigments with no liquid or oils added; therefore they do not need preservation. They are basically crushed rocks that have been in the earth since creation.

About Parabens: used as inhibitors of microbial growth and to extend shelf life of products. Widely used even though they are known to be toxic. Have caused many allergic reactions and skin rashes. Studies have shown that they are weakly estrogenic (mimic estrogen) and therefore are associated with breast cancer. (Revlon, Neutrogena)

*     Methylparaben
*     Propylparaben
*     Butylparaben
*     Ethylparaben
